The Nerf Blastfire DX-500 originated with a progressive idea for a streamlined, 5-dart blaster. Using technology and prototypes developed by JRD, Designstream delivered Nerf a fully designed, Pro-E engineered Blastfire, ready for tooling and manufacturing.

Based off a commissioned idea and technology, Designstream developed and designed the Nerf Gyrostrike. Benefiting from Designstream's resources, the concept was turned from an unwieldy, fifteen pound prototype to a sleek, manufactured product, able to be disassembled and shipped in a 14 by 12 by 5 sized box.

To broaden the Estes Air line of products, Designstream developed Estes Blast Jets, based on JRD technology. The development of Blast Jets allowed Estes to transcend its image as a hobby rocket company, yet maintained aesthetic consistency with the rocketry line.
