A compressed air powered car and launcher. The launcher includes an air pump which is actuated to compress air into the launch assembly. The launcher also includes a delay mechanism and a sound generator. Once the launcher is pressurized and the launch button is actuated, the turbine sound generator is activated to produce noise prior to the propulsion of the car. The launcher also includes a means for adjusting the delay and turbine sound duration.
